OVERVIEW
This qualification offers an introduction to basic cookery skills. The practical units are based on the different methods of cookery and include units on cold preparation and basic pastry techniques.

DURATION
Six (6) months

MODULE
Introduction to the hospitality industry, elements of health, safety and nutrition and the preparation, cooking and finishing of dishes using a range of different cookery methods.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
18-35 years old (with min. 9 years of schooling, or with 3 years relevant prior work experiences)
